On Thursday, January 30th, there's a workshop for anyone interested in learning more about meeting procedure. Whether you're an old hand or a rookie, this workshop is for you.
It's call Meeting Procedure Made Easy and that's exactly what we will do - demystify meeting procedure and show you how to make sense of it all.
Why would you use meeting procedure you may ask. Isn't it old fashioned and out of date? The answer is a resounding NO.
Local government use meeting procedure at every meeting. So do lots of union meetings. Community groups try to use it but often they end up being confused.
This workshop will be interactive and you'll see when, where and how to use formal procedures. But more importantly it will show you how an understanding of meeting procedure can make every meeting you attend, more effective. There's a way to run a meeting effectively and efficiently without the vocabulary of formal meeting procedure, but with great results. This workshop will show you how.

Can I bring along a non Rostrum person - Yes - especially committee members of community groups.
Is there a cost - Yes. $5 per person payable at the door
I know nothing about meeting procedure, will it be over my head - No. The content and delivery will be tailored for anyone.
I am old hand and know meeting procedure backwards - will I be bored? No - you'll enjoy it.
Is there parking? There is plenty of well lit, undercover parking right next to the venue.
Do I need to bring anything? No but you may like to bring your own notebook.
Will this be streamed - Not at this time - we may do a streamed version later.
Who is running this workshop? - The workshop will be run by David Price. David was a co-author of Take the Chair and has written 4 other books on meeting procedure. He is regarded as an authority on meeting procedures and consul=ts widely.
